You All Mock the "Tiger King," but Soon You Will Kneel

During this time of plague and disease, many people are practicing what professionals call “social distancing” and “quarantining” as a way to help stop the spread of this truly nasty COVID-19 virus. That means many people are staying inside their homes, apartments, condos, etc. and binge watching their favorite shows on Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Prime, etc. In fact, many streaming services like Disney+ have opted to release their movies (i.e. ONWARD) online while the theatres are closed.

The biggest show to date during this quarantine era is the Netflix documentary “Tiger King'' which discusses the life of a man known as Joe Exotic. Exotic, who lived in Oklahoma and ran his own private zoo, was famous for his large numbers of tigers. He even dubbed himself the “Tiger King.'' Of course, if you haven’t watched it you need to, but it not only exposes this guy's ridiculous life story but uncovers the very dark and seedy underbelly of owning Big Cats, such as lions, tigers, etc. This story has black market dealings, murder, hypocrisy at its finest, and of course a major Federal Investigation. It’s truly worth your time to watch this.

As most people are using this time to mock the one who dubbed himself the “Tiger King,” Joe Exotic, I can’t help but see that on April 23rd a new “Tiger King” will be crowned.

You may be confused. Allow me to elaborate. On April 23rd, the NFL Draft is still scheduled to take place. This means the Cincinnati Bengals are still on the clock as they have the No. 1 overall pick. The hands down No. 1 overall pick will be the reigning Heisman Trophy Winner and National Championship Star Player JOE Burrow, who coincidentally enough already shares a first name with the former “Tiger King,” and even more coincidentally played for the Louisiana State University TIGERS.

As they say in the wrestling business, the story writes itself. Things just have a way of falling in place, including this. I always say Twitter stays undefeated, as Twitter is home to many of the internet's most fierce trolls, but it truly is God who stays undefeated. What are the chances this future Heisman trophy winner was born to be named JOE, to play for the LSU TIGERS, to then also be poised to be drafted No. 1 overall and become the new franchise player of Cincinnati BENGALS, all in the same year this documentary, “TIGER KING,” is released and a man named JOE Exotic, who calls himself the “Tiger King,” is sweeping the nation off its feet in one of it’s darkest hours. Too much of a coincidence;

in fact, I think it’s his way of giving light to a dark time.

For myself, a Cleveland Browns fan, I can only hope that this new “Tiger King” Joe, the second of his name, is a false prophet, and that he busts (or they decide to draft Chase Young). If he truly is the “Tiger King,” it’s going to be another long hard road for my beloved Browns, and just when we started putting the pieces together.
