I absolutely loved the AAF; the fast paced game and little to no commercials on the AAF website was great. The commentators kept me intrigued in the product and the players, being the rag tag group they are, put on pretty good games. No matter which game you watched, whether it was the San Diego Fleet v. the San Antonio Commanders or the Orlando Apollos v. Atlanta Legends, they were good. The game also showed a lot of grit, and that is something worth watching as compared to the NFL product. I mean did you see that sack by Shaan Washington on Mike Bercovici! That would’ve got an NFL player ejected, fined, and the team penalized. There were also times when pass interference didn’t look like it was going to be called very easily either. I have to say I enjoyed the AAf’s inaugural night. Though I will say, I do want better QB play. I am not saying the QBs who played tonight are bad; in fact, they showed very great glimpses of talent, like Logan Woodside’s bomb down field for San Antonio and of course Mike Bercovici’s manipulation play was some really great stuff. I do believe, though, that they could be more consistent with those kinds of plays.
At the end of the day, it was great. I enjoyed watching it and can’t wait to see what my team, the Memphis Express, can do against the Birmingham Iron. I think Christian Hackenberg is in a for a big day with the Memphis Express, as well as Fabian Guerra. Football is back, and I love it!
As usual,
ALL ABOARD!
