Why was everyone shocked that Jalen Hurts transferred to Oklahoma? I mean, I was surprised when he decided to stick around for this year and not transfer last year. When Jalen Hurts announced he would be transferring, I immediately imagined him going to Oklahoma because, why not? It 100% makes sense.
Oklahoma has made the CFB playoffs the last two seasons in the row, has had two Heisman trophy winners in a row, and has Lincoln Riley as a head coach. That yells perfect situation for Jalen Hurts. Not to mention that Jalen Hurts' playing style is mobile, much like his predecessors Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. Jalen will also be able to play against BIG 12 defenses and put up monster numbers. I’m not saying that the BIG 12 is easy, but the BIG 12 plays absolutely no defense for the most part, and most of their games end up being forty, fifty, sixty point shootouts; now you have a guy transferring from an elite SEC program like Alabama, and pair him with a great coach like Lincoln Riley, you might as well hand Oklahoma the BIG 12 Championship again this year. I’m not saying there won’t be close games, but Jalen Hurts transferring to Oklahoma, spells trouble for all the BIG 12.
